ME I am an English native speaker with extensive experience in editing and translation, working with satisfied clients from a range of backgrounds and countries including many cultural organisations, artists and academic scholars as well as commercial and private organisations.
MY BACKGROUND I grew up in London and studied languages and literature to Masters level at Oxford University. Since graduating I have gained over ten years’ experience of editing and translating. I also taught English language and writing in universities for many years meaning I have particular expertise in working for academic clients. At the same time, I am an experienced freelance translator, editor and proofreader of texts in a wide range of domains, in particular in the cultural and artistic sectors. My personal passions include culture, music, gender issues and social justice, so I am always particularly happy to take on jobs in those fields.

MY APPROACH TO EDITING I love helping people improve their English texts to say exactly what they want in an engaging way. I combine attention to detail with a desire to get a good oversight of a whole text and your wider writing goals. I am happy to spend time checking punctuation or footnotes if that is what you need. But I also love to work on the bigger picture – helping writers improve their flow, find exactly the right words, and re-structure a text so every message and argument comes across well.
